Webster Vienna Private University (WVPU), established in 1981, is an accredited, private, nonprofit university in Vienna, Austria. It is the first American university in Austria with dual accreditation in the USA and Austria. Hosting students from over 70 nations, WVPU provides a diverse learning environment at its historic Palais Wenkheim campus.
You are the leader, decision-maker, and primary contact for all matters related to the university's management. You represent the faculty externally and in foreign affairs, you are the first point of contact for all stakeholders and internal matters. You must have a good overall understanding and rational comprehension of the concerns of the finance, accounting, and HR departments. Further on accreditation and quality assurance systems is part of your day-to-day routine, you drive business development, research, and especially the continuous advancement and expansion of the existing four faculties with the support of your team.You maintain and expand the network with stakeholders, mediate between two cultures, and foster the potential of your employees.
You are an executive with international experience and a high level of diplomatic communication skills. You have professional experience in the private university system and knowledge of the accreditation system in Austria/AQ Austria. You hold, as a minimum, an academic (PhD)- degree, having held a senior administrative position is a minimum requirement and you preferably have held or hold a chair at a university, are sensitive in dealing with employees, and understand and appreciate the American worldview and culture that is maintained at the university. Your experience and understanding of business management are important. In addition to flexibility and representational skills, you bring the ability to maintain an overall perspective. English at C2 level and appropriate German are essential. Cosmopolitan thinking and acting complete your profile.
