Your responsibilities As a researcher at IHS, you will be part of a research unit that conducts and coordinates scientific surveys, provides consultation on survey design and offers data services. You will be involved in survey research and actively contribute to the development of the unit. Conduct research on survey methodology, data collection techniques, and statistical advancements, present findings at conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals Develop projects and research proposals related to survey methodology, tools and data Contribute to the development of surveys throughout the entire lifecycle and designing and implementing quantitative surveys to collect high-quality data Program syntaxes at different stages of the survey process (data preparation to data archiving) Develop and undertake knowledge transfer activities About you You hold a Doctoral degree in economics, sociology, statistics, data science, or a related field, and aim at a career in policy-oriented applied research You have a strong background in quantitative research methods, survey design and analysis, experience in designing, analyzing, and managing large-scale surveys is a plus You are strongly proficient in programming (e.g. Stata, R, SPSS, Python, Matlab) You have excellent communication skills in German and English What IHS offers Excellent opportunities for career development as an emerging scientist due to our strong research environment and science-based policy advisory expertise Dedicated research time, comprehensive mentoring and a broad academic network Flexible working time arrangements and the option of mobile working, IHS is a certified family-friendly employer A great location set in the heart of Vienna and a fully operating infrastructure Your application The minimum monthly salary for the advertised position is € 4,919.45 gross for a 35-hour week, paid 14 times per year. The position is to be filled as soon as possible. The initial contract period is 3 years, with the possibility of an extension upon successful internal evaluation.
